Tuscarora Tennis Club’s programs emphasize the most current stroke techniques. Court etiquette, rules and strategies are standard. Students are encouraged to be the best they can be, using only positive reinforcement.

Annette Schiavone

Annette

Annette Schiavone became a USPTA teaching Professional in 2001. Her passion for sharing and teaching tennis has been a lifelong one. She began playing tennis at age 10, played in High School and one year of college. After a 10 year break from the sport, she started back and realized she wanted to share her love of the sport with others. 

Annette has had experience coaching High School tennis teams, teaching at private tennis clubs, city recreational tennis classes and most recently, as the Director of Adult Tennis at JTCC in College Park, MD. It was there that Annette was responsible for all adult classes including creating curriculums for each level, creating practice leagues for all level of students, running adult USTA tournaments and providing social events each month for members.

Annette brings her love of the sport, her knowledge of the game and her passion to help others learn the game, to Tuscarora Tennis Club.  

Ted Meyer

Ted

Ted’s tennis experience traverses virtually all aspects of the tennis industry: player, teacher, organizer, director and owner. As a competitor, he was a four year letterman at George Mason University. Upon graduation, he played semi-professional and open USTA tournaments in singles and doubles. Ted joined the US professional Tennis Association (USPTA) in 1979, and has immersed himself in learning how to teach tennis and teach others how to teach. Ted is currently the Head Tester of Certification for the Mid-Atlantic USPTA and has the privilege helping interested individuals become certified tennis teachers. The depth of Ted’s experience qualifies him to work with all levels of players, and he has as much fun with a 5-year old, an adult or an aspiring competitor. Ted feels strongly that the game of tennis offers everyone a physical and mental activity that they can utilize, be challenged by and benefit from for the duration of their lives. He knows from experience that it is never too late to start!

Roger Reitman

Roger is PTR Certified and has been playing and teaching tennis in the Frederick community for many years. Because tennis is the perfect lifelong activity, his teaching philosophy emphasizes the development of skills at every age level within a relaxed, fun, but demanding context. When not on the court teaching, Roger can be found playing tennis on the Tuscarora clay courts or teaching sociology at Hood College.

Patti Hagemann

Patti-Hagemann

Patti has been a “tennis nut” for the past 20 years, and has been with Tuscarora for the last 15 years. She graduated from the prestigious Van Der Meer Total Tennis University in Hilton Head, SC in 2012 and she is also certified by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). Patti loves all aspects of the game and enjoys watching her adult and youth students improve (and Win!). Patti is the General Manager of Tuscarora Tennis Club.

Lukas Sanidas

Lukas

Lukas Sanidas grew up in Howard County, Maryland. He was a top-30 player as a junior in the Mid-Atlantic region in both singles and doubles. . He was captain of the Centennial High School tennis team, where he broke countless records. At Stevenson University in Baltimore he was the program’s winningest player with 90 career wins and numerous singles and doubles records. He served as team captain twice.
Lukas was a full-time teaching pro for the Columbia Association, and served as the Junior Director at Hillendale Country Club. In addition, he is a PTR certified teaching professional.
